Rotherfield at the Olympics
Rotherfield was lucky enough to be given tickets to both the Olympics and Paralympics games! In July, y6 and y5 children went to Wembley stadium to see Team GB women and Brazil play as part of the group stages.
GB won 1-0 and played brilliantly, even in the face of several questionable challenges. Keep posted for an article from one of the year 5s.
On Tuesday 4th September, several children began their year 6 early as they went to the Paralympic stadium with Tina and Nora to several athletic events. The atmosphere was amazing, especially with the volunteers who "high fived" everyone!

Theo Walcott and HRH Duchess of Cornwall inspire our Year 6 readers!
The Duchess of Cornwall and Arsenal striker Theo Walcott have joined forces in a bid to inspire a love of reading in schoolchildren. The pair launched the 2012 Premier League Reading Stars (PLRS) initiative to encourage youngsters and their parents to enhance their literary skills. Camilla and the England international met around 80 pupils at the Emirates Stadium in north London to talk about the initiative which sees footballers trying to encourage children and their families to read together.....and guess what? Some of year 6 children were lucky enough to be invited!
