Monica Sever

My children have attended this school for many years and I feel that it is the parents’ responsibility to support the school and the governing body to provide the best they can for all children. I would like to support the children and parents to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

I believe I have the experience, knowledge and skills required to be considered for this post.

I have worked for local government for over 20 years in many different roles. I have extensive experience working in children/educational related fields. I am responsible, committed and keen to learn. I have managed budgets, staff members, organised activities for children and families and applied successfully for funding. I have managed contracts, produced a safeguarding policy, organised training for staff and more.

I think that Rotherfield is doing a great job at providing a well-rounded education to my son and other pupils. As my son is in year 1 I feel it would be good to get involved now to shape the future of the school and hopefully bring some benefits from my own experience to help drive the school further. I want to be part of the thing that is going to be such a large part of my son’s life for the next few years.

My experience working for 2 years part-time at Islington Boat Club gives me vast experience of working in a community project that deals with the needs of children. My admin skills, report writing skills and planning are well-developed. I am also a film producer which has taught me a variety of skills including planning, negotiating, decision-making, leadership and some legal knowledge.

I am self-employed and run my own film production company.

I also recently worked part time at Islington Boat Club.

I have a degree in Anthropology and Communication Studies
