Forest School (EYFS & Year 1)

Forest School is a valued part of our curriculum for children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. Each year, every class enjoys a term of weekly sessions at our local park, Rosemary Gardens, led by highly qualified Forest School instructors. These sessions give children the opportunity to:

  • connect with nature
  • develop creativity
  • build confidence in the outdoors
  • develop communication and language.

Activities include making art from natural materials they collect, crossing rope bridges, drilling holes in conkers to create necklaces, and even learning how to use flint and steel to safely spark small fires. Forest School nurtures resilience, teamwork, and a sense of adventure, while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
