We are very lucky to have 4 subject specialists working in our school. They bring an expert knowledge of their subject to the children, and help the wider staff team to ensure the curriculum is rich and varied.

The quality of this teaching has been described as highly effective and outstanding by School Improvement Officers.

Janet is our Spanish Specialist; Michael is our Computing specialist and Matthew is our Music specialist. They all work across Newington Green and Rotherfield Primary Schools and teach children between years 1 and 6.

Sam is our PE subject specialist. He ensures that pupils get the very best teaching of physical education, and that they develop a love of sport in some form. In 2021 we refurbished our Sports Hall and have made it a beautiful and inspirational space for learning, he also works between both schools.

We have wonderful specialist spaces at Rotherfield for teaching - The Studio(a multi use space for art/music and Spanish) and the MUR(Multi Use Room) which has specialist computing equipment and training facilities.
